Uw Madison Suicide, Death, Obituary – An spokesperson from the university claimed that a student from the University of Wisconsin–Madison passed away outside of a residence hall on Monday. In a statement that was sent out to students and employees, Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Lori Reesor stated that the individual who passed away outside of Smith Residence Hall was a student.
Reesor mentioned that there are no suspicions of foul play, and that the Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office and the University of Wisconsin–Madison Police Department are currently looking into the matter. “We know that some people witnessed or have been affected in some other way by this loss, and we appreciate how difficult it will be for many people in our community,” Reesor said.
“We recognize how sad it will be for many in our community.” We want to acknowledge that this loss will continue to be felt by our community and offer support resources so that you can process what you may have seen, heard, or be experiencing. Although there is no threat to the safety of the campus, we want to acknowledge that this loss will continue to be felt by our community.
According to Reesor, the UWPD offered their assistance on Monday morning. Also, representatives from University Housing, University Health Services, and the Office of the Dean of Students have been present at the residence hall to provide a place of support for anybody who has been impacted by the incident.
