On Saturday, former President Donald Trump claimed that “illegal leaks” have suggested that he will be detained on Tuesday, and he urged his supporters to demonstrate against this new development. Trump also claimed that “illegal leaks” have suggested that he will be charged with obstruction of justice.
In a series of articles that he has published on his social media platform known as Truth Social, Trump has made references to allegations that he may soon be facing possible criminal charges in New York in connection with a hush money payment that was made to adult film star Stormy Daniels. These allegations relate to a possible cover-up of an affair that occurred between Trump and Daniels.
Trump did not respond to the topic of whether or not law enforcement had informed him of an imminent indictment against him; yet, he seemed to be aware of the possibility of such a warning. Later, in a statement, a spokesperson for Trump clarified that there “has been no notification, other than illegal leaks from the Justice Department and the DA’s office, to NBC” and other news outlets. The statement referred to leaks that had occurred from the Justice Department and the District Attorney’s office. This statement was made in response to queries over whether or not any notification had been given.
The spokesperson continued by claiming that President Trump was “correctly demonstrating his innocence as well as the weaponization of our injustice system.” The next weekend, he would be traveling to Texas to take part in a large rally. “Bring Back the Greatness of the United States!”
On Friday, NBC News reported that multiple law enforcement agencies are preparing for the prospect that Trump might be indicted as soon as the following week. The story stated that this could happen as soon as next Monday.
Trump, who is seeking the nomination for president of the Republican party, has blasted what he refers to as “illegal leaks” that “indicate” he will be arrested on Tuesday.
