Thomas McErlean Obituary, Death – Thomas McErlean, formerly of the Largy, passed away on April 4; POP was devastated to learn of his passing just today. McErlean was a resident of Grange Road, Moneyglass, and formerly the Largy. Gerard spent his childhood on the upper part of the Largy, and he had his primary education at the Largy school before moving on to St. Mary’s Secondary School in Clady. When he was a student at Clady.
He participated in Gaelic football and helped the team win a couple of cups. Subsequently, he was a member of the Roger Casements squad that triumphed in their competition and took first place. I first met Gerard in the 1980s at 45 card drives, when I also ran across his late father Jim and brother Seamus. Gerry was always up for a bit of chat and appreciated the cards. I would like to pass on my sincere sympathies to his wife Marie, his son Paul, his daughters Tracy (McGuigan).
Cathy (Deery), Shauna (Carberry), and Lisa (McGaughey), his Siblings Seamus, Kathleen, Kevin, Roisin, Carmel, John, Vera, Leo, his Grandchildren Bróna, Ciara, Jack, Daíre, Rós, Líle, Ben, Isabel, Conor, Cara, his Great Grandchildren Killian & Eimear and the entire McErlean family at this sad time. When I think of Gerry, I also think of his late sister Deirdre, his late parents Jim and Rose, and his late grandchild Claire. All of them have passed away.
