Susan Breslin Obituary, Death – After a valiant three-year fight with cancer, Susan (Wascher) Breslin, a native of Olean, New York and resident of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, went to be with her heavenly Father on Friday, March 31, 2023. Susan Wascher, the daughter of the late Eugene (Gene) and June Wascher, was born on April 4, 1954, in England when Gene was serving in the military. Pennsylvania, and their son Evan; Michael and Lindsay (Van Horn) Breslin of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, and their two kids, Patrick and James, are among those left to mourn her passing. She was married to Mike for 46 years. Steven, Susan’s brother, and his wife Cheryl Wascher have two sons, Andrew and Lee, and a daughter, Barbara, all of whom currently reside in New York. Mike has family in two different cities: in Lenox, Massachusetts, with his brother Dr. Andrew Breslin and his wife Pam Breslin, son Luke, and his friend Jessi Nolet, and in Albany, New York, with Samuel and his wife Molly, and their daughters Liddy and Emma.
Susan met Mike while attending West Virginia University, where she was pursuing her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism. She graduated from high school in Portville, New York. Before taking on her current role as Public Relations Coordinator for the WVU Foundation, Susan got her start in the industry as a documentary writer for WVU Public Television. Both Susan and Mike’s jobs at Hershey Medical Center in Pennsylvania prompted them to relocate. Susan started off in the office’s Development Department before being promoted to head marketing. The Life Lion, which she helped publicize and give its current moniker, is named for her. She also advocated for the Four Diamonds Cancer Research Fund’s annual Penn State Dancing Marathon.
