Sophie Shardlow Obituary, Death – After hearing that Sophie Shardlow, my old employer at Radio Leicester and someone who fought a brave battle with cancer, had died away, I felt completely and utterly crushed. My heartfelt condolences go out to Mark and to every member of Mark’s family on the passing of their beloved family member or friend.
During this extremely trying time, I want you all to know that my thoughts and prayers are with you, and I pray that the soul of our cherished Sophie will find some measure of peace tonight. I know that this is not easy for any of you, but I want you to know that I am thinking and praying for you. Sophie was the kind of person who, even up until the very end of her life, would make jokes about and laugh with her family. This was a perfect illustration of the type of person she was.
You will always be remembered as my employer, and I couldn’t have asked for a finer boss – someone who is insightful and motivational while also being kind and thoughtful. That describes you perfectly. It is an excellent way to describe you. It has been an honor to serve as your Deputy, and I am grateful for the opportunity that you have given me. Be at peace, sweetheart, and know that I am grateful for everything you’ve done for me, especially your support while I was acting as Acting Editor. Please also know that I am thankful for everything else you’ve done. You are going to be greatly missed by me.
