Robert Hill Obituary, Death – I am writing to inform you that my biological father, Robert Hill, passed away on Saturday night. It is with immeasurable sorrow and unfathomable loss that I make this announcement. He was an exceptional human being. The majority of your close friends are aware that Robert Pleasure, who has since passed away, was my father throughout my entire childhood and will continue to be that for the rest of my life. I am a man who has been given the gift of having two father figures in his life.
When I was in my early 30s, Bob Hill came into my life, and from the moment we first met, we had a really strong friendship. Both of my fathers were great Black Leaders in the fields of education and energy, and as you can see from this magnificent photo, they sang together in the choir at the Dixwell Congregational church in New Haven during the 1960s. Both of my fathers were also members of the choir.
We referred to him as DadBob, and our respect and love for him could not be any deeper.
I give thanks to the heavens above that I was allowed 30 years to spend time with him and learn to know him. I am at a loss for words to adequately express how nice and generous he has been to a great number of us, and how much he enjoyed making others laugh.
Because he is held in high esteem by so many people all across the world, we all feel this to be a significant loss. He was a devout and godly man. I have no doubt that he is enjoying himself immensely on the other side of this.
