Richard Levick Obituary – The following was distributed by PRNewswire on April 12 of 2023: — According to the announcement made by his company today, Richard S. Levick, Esq., founder and CEO of the eponymous corporation LEVICK, passed away on April 11, 2023 due to cancer. He was 65. It is impossible to adequately express how significant Richard’s contributions to the field of crisis communications have been. Richard was a pioneer in this area.
He is considered by many to be the “father of modern reputation management” and essentially wrote the book on how to communicate effectively during times of crisis and lawsuit. The seemingly limitless energy, enthusiasm, insatiable hunger for information, and wicked sense of humor that he possessed created him a persona that was larger than life. He was a trusted confidant and advisor to heads of state, CEOs, celebrities, athletes, politicians, and legal firms, the majority of whom had his speed-dial number programmed into their phones.
(Also an active participant in the podcasting and newsletter writing communities.) The senior management team of the company made the following observation in a statement: “Richard’s influence on the field of communications will be felt for years to come.” “We have lost a great man, an inspiring mentor, a pioneering leader, and a true friend to many of us in this business,” said one person. “This industry will not be the same without him.”
We are going to miss Richard very much, but his legacy will live on in the work that we do every day, in the people whose lives have been improved by having known him, and in the numerous reputations that have been preserved because of him.
