Melnevia Whaley Obituary, Death – Melnevia Whaley, it breaks my heart to learn that you have passed away. We go all the way back to 1998 when we were in Roosevelt middle school, to an economics class at Oak Park high school, and to when we saw you handle the money at all of the major parties in the city.
You were extremely kind and polite at all times, and it was a delight to cross paths with you on multiple occasions. You left an imprint on the lives of so many people, and there is no doubt that you will be much missed. You were so accustomed to seeing my name on the guest list that when the promoters accidentally forgot to include it, you would say things like, “Well, just go ahead, Des.
” You were an angel here on earth, and as a result, I do not doubt that you are an angel in heaven. When I arrive in paradise, I’m going to need to be greeted by the same kind of love. An unfortunate event claimed the life of my sister Melnevia Whaley, who was also my soulmate. My only source of comfort comes from the knowledge that she was reunited with her parents in paradise only last night when she passed away.
I pray that your spirit will continue to illuminate the spaces it enters. My entire being hurts for you, and I love you so very much. I’m grateful that I got to visit you two weeks ago; I simply didn’t realize that hug would be the final one we had. It was a joy to catch up with you whenever we did. Someone with such a generous spirit who made an impact on so many people’s lives. This is a very tragic event, but we take comfort in the knowledge that you served the Lord, and we shall see you again someday. I am saying a prayer for your sister, as well as for the rest of her family and all of her friends.
