Mark Spainhour Obituary, Death – Mark Anthony Spainhour, age 67, formerly of King, North Carolina, passed away on Monday, April 3, 2023, at Sanford Health and Rehabilitation, surrounded by his family and friends. Mark Anthony Spainhour had lived in Sanford, North Carolina, but he was originally from King. Mark Spainhour was born on February 4, 1956, in Forsyth County, North Carolina to parents who had both passed away before their son’s birth:
W. Oscar Spainhour and Ruth (Campbell) Spainhour. Mark was the only child of the couple. Mark was a proud veteran of the United States Army, having served his country in Vietnam from 1974 until 1975. His tour of duty took place in Vietnam. Mark was quite involved at the Mount Olive Baptist Church where he attended services. At one point in his life, he held a job in the gardening industry as a worker.
Mark was also a member of several prestigious organizations, such as the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), and the Association for Disabled American Veterans. Pamela (Turner) Spainhour, his committed and loving wife; one son; three grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and a handful of cousins are all that are left to treasure his memory.
At the cemetery, there will be a service held on Monday at 2:00 p.m. The Reverend Bryan Gough will serve as the master of ceremonies for the event, which will be held at the Mount Olive Cemetery on April 10, 2023. The family would want to express their appreciation to Sanford Health and Rehabilitation as well as Gentiva Hospice of Sanford for their care and support during this difficult time.
In place of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Mt. Olive Cemetery Trust in honor of the person who has passed away.
