Lawrence Hanson Obituary, Death – On March 23, 2023, Lawrence Gunerius Hanson, who had been living in Worland, Wyoming, passed away in the Worland Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. He was 93 years old. On October 19, 1929, in Greybull, Wyoming, Lawrence Hanson became the first of six children to be born to Gunerius
and Ellen Ann (Behne) Hanson. Lawrence was the first of six children to be born. It was always going to be Greybull for him. Lawrence cherished the tranquil and uncomplicated way of life that he was able to lead there. He was a very nice person, but he rarely spoke to anyone since he preferred to keep to himself. When he had the opportunity, he would go to the mountains whenever he could. He found comfort in the place’s reputation for quiet and seclusion.
He took great care in tending to his peony flower garden and was always kind enough to give away the stunning blossoms that it produced each spring. On Memorial Day, he would visit several of the family graves and decorate them with aromatic flowers. Lawrence was someone who put in a lot of effort.
He held a number of different jobs, but some of his favorites were driving a truck for Sweetheart Bread, working for Big Horn County COOP in Greybull, and working for the Bentonite Factory. Even though he perceived his sphere of influence to be limited, those who had the opportunity to spend the most time with him will carry his legacy on. He will be sorely missed by everyone.
His parents, brothers Robert (Linda) Hanson, Marvin, Melvin Hanson, and sisters Bertha (Ozmo) Ranta, Betty (Joe) Bumpas, and Charlotte (Gene) Werlinger all passed away before him. In addition to a large number of nieces and nephews, survivors include a half-brother named Charles Vanderpas who lives in Billings,
Montana, as well as a sister-in-law named Joyce Hanson who lives in Dickinson, North Dakota. Lawrence has been cremated, and his remains will be interred at the Donald J. Ruhl Cemetery in the spring of this year, alongside those of his mother. Condolences can be sent to the family through the website www.bryantfuneralhomeonline.com.
