Kelsey Mayer Obituary, Death – The driver of a vehicle that was involved in an accident with a logging truck on Thursday morning near Stoddard has been pronounced dead. According to the Concord School District, Kelsey Mayer, a graduate of Concord High School in 2022, passed away as a result of injuries sustained in the accident.
Mayer, 18, a resident of Concord, was identified as the driver by New Hampshire State Police. She played well enough in her freshman season at Keene State College to gain a position on the women’s soccer team. Kelsey was known for her upbeat personality and the joy that she provided to everyone around her, according to a letter sent out to the community by the school district. This was in addition to her great skills on the soccer field.
The following was included in a statement that was emailed to News 9 by a spokeswoman for Keene State College: “For our campus community, this is an unspeakable loss. It’s difficult to find the right words. Our hearts and prayers are with Kelsey’s family, and our complete attention is being directed on assisting those individuals at Keene State who were closest to Kelsey in dealing with the aftermath of this tragedy.
According to the New Hampshire State Police, they were made aware of the collision at approximately 4:45 a.m. on Thursday. It took place on Route 9 next to a logging site, which is situated in the middle of Road 123 North and Route 123 South. Mayer was operating a 2016 Chevrolet Cruze while a passenger from Concord who was 19 years old was riding along. According to the state police, they were traveling west on Road 9 approaching the logging site at the same time as a tractor-trailer was getting ready to pull into the site. The Chevy Cruze was responsible for colliding with the logging trailer. Mayer and the other passenger need to be freed from the vehicle at the same time.
