John Murro Obituary, Death – John Murro volunteered his time to work as a firefighter for the Port Washington Fire Department for the entire 53 years that he was employed there. During this same period, he was also chosen to serve as Trustee Emeritus for the department, which was an elected position.
The office of the Chief of the Port Washington Fire Department informed the Officers and members of the Protection Engine Co. No. 1, PWFD, LINY, and after learning of his passing, they all expressed their condolences at the news of his loss. The Chief’s office informed the Officers and members of the LINY of his demise, which brought the topic up for discussion. John “Money” Murro was able to achieve a great degree of success in his work because he exhibited an amazing amount of dedication to it.
As a result of this, he was able to serve his country, the fire department that he cherished closest to his heart, as well as the PWFD. Because having him here has been such a positive experience for all of us as a whole, we are going to miss having him here with us in the future. Please keep his wife Claudia, his family, and his godson, Atlantic Hook & Ladder Ex-Captain James Dello-Iacono, in your thoughts and prayers as we go through this trying time. They are experiencing a challenging circumstance right now.
