Jeff Smith Obituary, Death – Jeffrey E. Smith, who resided in Allentown and was 66 years old at the time of his death on March 11th, 2023, passed away. As he died away, he was survived by his beloved spouse, Jean (Fisher) Smith, to whom he had been married for more than 38 years at the time of his passing. His father, Edward C. Smith, and his granddaughter, Hope Schimeneck, both went away before he was born in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania. He was the last surviving member of his family.
Jeff is no longer employed by Evonik, Inc. In his free time, he liked to spend it in Eagles Mere, Pennsylvania, with his family and friends, engaging in activities like fishing and hunting. For a good number of years, he served on the church council at Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church, where he was a member.
SURVIVORS: In addition to his devoted wife Jean, he is survived by his mother, Elva (Welliver) Smith, and his sister, Pam Hobson, both of Allentown; his daughters Cherie (Schimeneck) Barreca and Stacey (Schimeneck) Wenner, wife of James; his son Robert Schimeneck and his wife Marybeth; and his grandchildren Cherie, Stacey, and James.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Schimen (Egge). Five people are regarded to be grandchildren; their names are Damon Barreca, Lily, Hana, Luke Schimeneck, and Caitlyn Wenner.
At 10 o’clock in the morning on March 23, 2023, there will be a memorial ceremony performed at Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church. In the city of Allentown, PA, the address of the church is 535 W. Emaus Avenue. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers that memorial contributions be sent to DaVita St. Luke’s Dialysis, which may be found at 1901 Hamilton Street, Suite 100, Allentown, PA 18104.
