James Bakker Obituary, Death – Firefighter James Bakker, who had served with Engine Company #3 for his entire career, passed away recently, and the men of that company are deeply devastated to pass along the news. Everyone called him Jimmy, and during his 52 years of dedicated service, he rose through the ranks to become a Lieutenant, Master Pump Operator, and Trustee.
He served for the duration of his life. His career in public service lasted from 1948 till 1982. It was always able to rely on him to get the job done, regardless of whether it was in the firehouse or out on the fire ground. a person who was prepared to put everything on hold in order to aid not only his fellow firefighters but also the people who lived in the Borough of Hawthorne was described.
The demise of this individual has resulted in a severe loss for the Hawthorne Volunteer Fire Department, Engine Company #3, and the Borough of Hawthorne. All three of these entities are located in Hawthorne. If you were to check up the definition of a volunteer, Jimmy would serve as an excellent illustration of what it means to be a volunteer in addition to many other aspects of the role. We would like the Bakker family to know that we are thinking about them and extending our condolences during this difficult time.
