Identification Of The Man Slain In A Gunfight With Pickens County Officers

During a gunfight with law officers in Pickens County, one of the participants was critically injured. The incident took place in that county. At the time of the occurrence, the victim, who was identified as Frank Jerry Millsapps and was 65 years old, was a Millsapps was a longtime resident of the Talking Rock neighborhood.

Deputies from the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of shots fired and a structure fire at a property located on Jay Moss Lane in Talking Rock at approximately 11:45 p.m. on Tuesday night, as stated by the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office. The incident occurred at the residence. The occurrence took place inside of a home in Talking Rock, which was the location of the town.

When the deputies arrived, they found Millsapps armed with a shotgun and standing in the front yard of the house. They also observed that Millsapps was facing away from them. After having a chat with the other person, Millsapps refused to put the pistol down and began walking toward the deputies in an aggressive manner.

During this time, the other individual was able to subdue Millsapps. As Millsapps pointed the gun at the deputies, he was successful in killing them; but, when the deputies opened fire, they were successful in killing Millsapps. Nobody in the law enforcement community was hurt in the incident, as far as anyone can tell.
