Gordon Burridge Obituary, Death – It has come to our attention that Former Bandmaster Gordon Burridge has been elevated to glory, and the news that this has occurred has left us in a state of profound dissatisfaction. We would like to ask you to keep Muriel, Karen, Jeanette, and the rest of the family in your thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. Hearing news like this is quite heartbreaking. Gordon was a fantastic person who was an influential and positive factor in my earlier years. I am grateful to have had him in my life.
That he took the time to care for a Youngster who was an officer was something that was really warmly received and appreciated by everyone. We are keeping Muriel, her family, and everyone else involved in the organization in our thoughts and prayers. Please accept our deepest sympathies. The death has occurred of a man who was far taller than any of us…Due to the fact that Gordon was such a good-natured and sensitive man, he will be greatly missed by all of us, but especially by Muriel, Karen, Jeannette, and the rest of the extended family.
Heaven is most likely a better place as a result of this, but what a terrible loss for the family, the corps, and society in general. You are all in my thoughts and prayers at this time. This is quite discouraging information to hear on a day like today. Our thoughts and prayers are with Muriel, Karen, and Jeanette, as well as the rest of the family. We are sorry for your loss. When I was younger, my immediate family and I used to refer to him as “Uncle Gordon,” and he was an important figure in my growth while I was a student at The Citadel. He devoted a significant amount of his free time to volunteering with the Youth Program Band and the Sunday School. I ask that the Lord showers his favor upon you, Uncle Gordon.
