The murder occurred when the top of the building collapsed. The roof of the theater, which was housing more than 200 people for a concert, caved down as a result of the severe storms that hit the area on Friday night.
Fred Livingston Jr., who was 51 years old and originally from Belvidere, was one of the fatalities in this tragedy. Medical personnel who were present at the scene confirmed that Livingston had passed away. According to a page that was created in Livingston’s honor on the crowdfunding platform GoFundMe, he was the father of three sons and a grandfather. This is a statement that the family released to the Rockford Register Star, in which they claimed, in part.
“We are simply still trying to fathom how something so awful could have happened.” Relatives of Livingston’s claim that he was a humorous and hardworking family man who had a passion for heavy metal music and fast cars. In addition to that, he had a good sense of humor. The information that was provided by the Belvidere Fire Department indicates that the collapse caused a total of 48 people to receive injuries as a result of the incident. According to the fire department, a total of 24 people were transported to the hospital following the incident. The vast majority of those persons were able to receive treatment and be released from the facility, but as of Saturday morning, there were still five people in severe condition.
