Edgar Stagner Obituary, Death- Edgar (Eddie) Stagner, who lived in Hampstead, passed away on April 4, 2023 at the Autumn Lake Healthcare Longview facility in Manchester. Edgar (Eddie) Stagner was a resident of Hampstead. Eddie Stagner was born on August 4, 1932, however neither of his parents, Chester and Lillie (Shaffer) Stagner, were alive to see him enter the world.
When Hazel Stagner’s husband Eddie passed away, the couple had been married for 73 years. Eddie was the oldest member of the Hampstead Volunteer Fire Department, where he had previously served as President and was also the oldest member overall. He was the oldest member still alive. Eddie was a member of the department for his entire life. In addition to that, he was an active participant in the activities of the Hanover Moose Lodge.
Prior to his early retirement, he was employed at Wheeler Chevrolet in Hampstead as well as at Jeff Legun in Westminster. Both of these locations can be found in the city of Westminster. After he retired, he drove a school bus in the Hampstead and Manchester area for the following 15 years until he finally stopped working altogether. Eddie experienced the most joy while he was participating in activities such as duckpin bowling, gathering with his friends to play cards, and spending the winter months at his house in Florida. In addition to that, it brought him an incredible amount of joy to watch his great-grandchildren participate in baseball games. Eddie was a devoted fan of the Orioles, and he took great delight in attending all of the team’s home games.
Eddie is survived by his three children, Donna Bauerlein (and her husband Frank), Sharon Blankenship (and her husband George), and Daniel Stagner (and his wife Patricia); four grandchildren, Frank Jr., Beth Bauerlein, Chris Blankenship, and Ashley Cole; five great-grandchildren, Kaleb, Jeremiah, Noah Bauerlein, Camden Blankenship, and Denten Cole; a sister, Jeanette Carbaugh; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
