Marshals of the Northern Iowa Fugitive Task Force, the FBI Safe Streets Task Force, and the Waterloo Police Department worked together on the investigation, which ultimately resulted in the suspect’s apprehension. At about four in the afternoon on Wednesday, Duval Walker Jr., age 28, was taken into custody in the 900 block of Linn Street in the city of Waterloo.
Walker was sought for First-Degree Murder, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felons, and Going Armed with the Intent to Commit a Crime. All three of these charges were related to the same incident. On the 17th, there was a report that bullets had been fired at the bar, which resulted in the response of a large number of police enforcement agencies in addition to ambulances.
According to the officials, Barnes was shot while he was inside the pub, and he later died from the injuries he had while being treated at a nearby medical facility.
