Bill Larkin Obituary, Newburgh NY, Bill Larkin has passed away

Bill Larkin Obituary, Death – Still shocked! Bill was more than a lawyer. He was friend. I’ll miss his quiet calls. I mourn him and am forever grateful. “Take care bye bye,” Bill. On Thursday, March 30, 2023, Blooming Grove, NY resident William J. Larkin III died abruptly. He silently served others. Bill was born in Bad Kreuznach, Germany, while his father was stationed with the US Army.

Before attending Siena College and Albany Law School at Union University, Bill resided in Maryland, Colorado, Heidelberg, Germany, Virginia, and Queens, NY. Bill married Nancy McDermott after law school. They lived in Cornwall with their three sons, who were his life. William represented Hudson Valley residents for 40 years. He founded Larkin and Ingrassia and represented clients in courts from New York City to Albany, including the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court of New York and the Southern District of New York. Bill was voted one of New York State’s top attorneys year after year.

His family’s fortuitous encounters at deli counters, soccer fields, and petrol stations with people who said, “Bill benefited us more than I can say,” confirmed those honors. He was extremely kind. He was essential.” Bill studied a lot and was interested in politics, helping his father’s many New York State Assembly and Senate elections. Bill enjoyed coaching his sons’ soccer, baseball, and basketball teams, especially the Newburgh Zion Lions’ national AAU championship run.

Bill loved sharing what he liked and seeing others appreciate it. Bill had legions of friends from all walks of life who found satisfaction in his presence and the certainty that Bill was someone they could trust on. He introduced them to gourmet delicacies, comfortable shoes, new technologies, and good wines by motioning for them to try them. Bill was a pillar, girder, and roof beam to his family. He advised his family on everything. He was smart and moral, therefore he always recommended and did the right thing.

He arrived when needed without being asked. His love for his wife Nancy, whom he enjoyed for almost fifty years, exemplified this dedication. Nancy and their kids Brendan, Harrison, and Patrick Larkin will miss Bill forever. His sisters Jan Stivers and her husband Dan of New Paltz, Patricia Winters and her husband Jim of Lancaster, SC, Patti Jacobsen and her husband Alan of Gardiner, NY, Fred McDermott and his wife Karen of Walden, NY, his beloved aunt Josephine Costa of Troy, NY, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews mourn his loss. His parents and Angeline and Fred McDermott, his in-laws, preceded him. Brooks Funeral Home will host a 4–7 PM visitation on Monday, April 3. On April 4, Sacred Heart Church will hold a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM, followed by burial at Calvary Cemetery.
